Confused

So last weekend, I realized that I hadn't posted anything for awhile, so I decided that I should probably update my blog since it has been who knows how long. When it told me I was out of my one gig space... I don't really know what that means, since I have put WAY more than one gig of pictures on here.
So since I don't have my hard drive full of pictures right now, I will just throw out there, that I have lots of pictures to put up, so I will figure something out, when I get home. Somehow there will be pictures up this week of all my recent shoots!

Been Busy and Internships!

Shoot, I have been so busy since July with Life Guarding and getting ready for School to get back in with Student Government, that it has been so hard to update this, I am now updated to the last shoot in Murray Park back on June 25th all the pictures are on the "2012" Page. The next pictures I need to edit are the ones from the video!

For school I am doing an internship, and I happened to choose Swensen Photography, at first they weren't going to take me, but the internship lady at the school was persistent with them, and then they found out I know my stuff already and here I am going to be able to take an internship with them, and they asked if I can go out and do things with them on other days that aren't the internship! So can't wait! :)

I tag teamed with Tori Plant to do a Huge Photo Shoot on the 25th of June in Murray Park. It costed $60.00 for Tori to do the make up and for me to take a half hour photo shoot.

Unlocking the secrets of RAW

I just recently last Wednesday evening, nope... It was Tuesday. I did a shoot with a coworker of mine and the Murray Pool. His name is Parker. I told him I wanted to try something new and shoot in RAW, he understood the idea very little but enough that he knew it was a bigger file then JPEG which indeed, it is VERY much bigger. After I got home and got the images on the computer I couldn't view them and I was confused. Although I never can view the images on the computer because the files are to big for the video card I have, so that's why I move them over to my external hard drive and view them on my MAC so I figured it wasn't to big of a problem. Once I had them on my Hard Drive I ran down stairs excited to see the results of my shoot, but once I plugged it in. I Still couldn't view them... Thoughts going through my mind "Oh no what will I do???!?!" "Shoot, how am I gonna show him how they look?!" "Crap.." So I frantically started to search the internet for the reason why I couldn't view these images... Nothing was helping me and I was desperate for an answer! I finally came upon a website that I had viewed a couple times and click a couple of the links. One of the links sent me to this adobe page that would allow me to download files that would help me to be able to view them if I had photo shop CS6 but since I use CS2 that didn't help at all. I went back to that page of links (Forum) and I had the feeling to scroll down to the bottom of the page, so I did so and I saw someone say if you had a T2i you need to look at this page, so I clicked the link excitedly thinking maybe I had my solution! I looked at all the updates looking for my camera and Finally I found it! I downloaded a program called Adobe DNG converter 5.7 and it converts my Canon Rebel T2i RAW images to a DNG image, then I can edit them on Photoshop and get my image to a JPEG and output my sources online for everyone to see! :) I did it ALL by myself and I feel great! Now, here is a Before and After shot to show you all what my edit looked like before and after with RAW! :)

Updates on Models

Lets see, since I last updated I just threw in some of my new stuff that hasn't been put up on here yet. I had to add another picture of Jenna, Suzi is here, Jos and I did another shoot, and I just did a shoot the other day with a coworker named Parker for fun!

Jenna's Seniors

For Jenna's Senior Pictures we went up to the Garden Park Ward, we got some beautiful shots and then the next day we took some inside, I don't have the studio pics done yet, but everything else is up on the 2012 page!

Studio Shoot

        As I am here waiting for Jenna to be done with her Dance Co. Practice I am working with the studio lights! I'm here using the school's studio and we are going to do the 2nd half of our shoot in here so she can have a picture for her hallway like the rest of her sisters. I am really excited to do this! When I have the money later on in life, if I am still interested in photography, which I really hope I am, I want to buy a studio set up and have it set up in the basement where the rest of my set up is set up right now. I have the MAC down there, as well with the rest of my man cave which includes the xbox, wii, game cube, 3 tv's, my food stash, 2 love seats, a lazy boy, and a foutan, and a matching chair to one of the love seats, a coffe table, and an entertainment center full of games and other du-hickies! Pretty sweet set up, right? I sure think so.
         Back to the whole studio lighting, what I will be using for Jenna's shoot. I have the backdrop which is a grey and white splotched and then 2 lights with a light box on it that makes it so the lights aren't to harsh on the subject, and then any props that she ends up bringing which for sure is going to be her guitar!
         She should be here in a couple of minutes so this is where I sign off, if I have time in here after the shoot is done, I will for sure report if it is a success or not!

Just a Girl I like... :)

After we had our State Final Game for Water Polo this past weekend, I told the girl I like "I want a new Facebook Cover Photo" So we went and took a picture at the high school, and she brought some friends, so I had one of our friends take the picture and the other hold the reflector, then I retouched it! :) Because they took the trouble of coming and taking the picture I got a cool picture of them that one is using as her Cover Photo now as well! :)

I have named this one "Fun in the Sun"

Sneak Peak at Alisha

Alisha's shoot was last week before I went down to Cedar City with the Polo team for Summer games, here is the first picture I got of hers done that is edited and I am absolutely in L.O.V.E. ♥ We did this shoot at one of my favorite locations 9th South and 9th East.

Some new pics!

Courtney and I had a great session for Senior pics, we went downtown for the first 40 minutes and ended the rest of the shoot out on Main Street in Midvale.

Mirjam was one of the March Madness Contest winners and received a free photo shoot, there are still 3 more shoots to go when we can find time... But we did all our shooting on Main Street in Midvale.

Last but not least, Lindsey needed some Senior pics done, so we went to Main Street once again, (If you haven't noticed... I Love this spot.) Then after the first hour, we went over the Wheeler Farm and took some pics with her Boyfriend who leaves on his Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this Wednesday.

One year old

Wow, what a year can bring! Valentines day of 2011 was the day that Connor Holt Photography officially started! I had my very first Photo Shoot with Vanessa! It was at Main Street in Midvale, where I have done many shoots since!  To my latest shoot with Janette here just in the school with know how to do Studio lighting! But I guess I can go back to my last shoot at Main Street which was with Trista! Here are some samples of how it's changed! :)

Regionals

Today I am going to Region, with my school and Pickle Photography! We are heading down to Copperhills High School and we have 5 categories that we have to do! 1 Written Test, 2 Studio Lighting, 3 Editing 4 Taking pictures 5 Resume I sure hope I can do good! :)

Then tonight when I get back home I will be going down to my sisters house to take pictures of her Cute 6 month year old Son! :) Hopefully those turn out just as good! :)

Connor Holt Photography's NEW Logo

I have finally got a new logo that I have made up. Here is what it looks like! Let me know what you think about it!

What my goal is to do with this is, when I put it up on the picture it will be the color of something in the picture that will help bring the picture out more!
